In response to this recommendation, the Agency developed a first strategic plan for the period 2009-2012, which has been followed by the 2015-2018, the 2019-2022 and the recently approved 2023-2026 strategic plans. With the exception of the 2019-2022 plan, which was affected by the pandemic caused by the COVID-19 virus, the level of compliance with the strategic plans has been above 80%.
The consecutive preparation of the strategic plans has not been to comply with the ESG – which in itself could be a good reason – but mainly because it has helped us to structure and consolidate our activities in four-year periods. Every strategic plan we have produced has been imperfect, and every new strategic plan and its roll-out has been better than the last. The latest one is the best version of those we have made so far.
The Strategic Plan 2023-2026 has had to be drawn up within the framework of an uncertain regulatory context, but at the same time it has allowed the Agency to highlight its aim of helping to improve the quality of the Catalan university system. The aim of the new plan is to strengthen the assessment processes, make them more efficient and reduce their time frame. In addition, it also aims to design and implement the new assessment activities to be commissioned in this new period. We have four years to roll it out and to implement the 12 strategic objectives and 34 actions that shape it, plus the new tasks that are expected to be assigned to us.
We hope that this strategic plan can be implemented almost completely, and that its object and purpose will be fulfilled.
