The discussion groups were held with employers and professionals from different sectors of economic activity in the months of June and July. A total of ten (10) discussion groups took place all together, in which more sixty (60) employers from different sectors took part.
These discussion groups form part of the Employers project, the purpose of which is to obtain the views and perceptions employers and professionals on the skills of recent graduates. As follow up to the results and findings of the Employers survey and to provide specific information on the skills and knowledge most highly valued in the labour market that can be then used for study programme enhancement, the following discussion groups were held:
The sessions highlighted the problem areas faced by the different groups and enhancement proposals were gathered for referral to the university community. Following the analysis of the group discussions, a series of short reports are to be drawn up for the faculties concerned as evidence of labour market requirements that can then be matched with their graduate profiles.
