AQU Catalunya has published the reports incorporating the results of the analysis of focus groups and specific interviews according to professional sector conducted on employers and professionals from the various fields of business. There are a total of ten reports addressed to faculties interested in having at their disposal evidence on the demands of the labour market associated with the profile of their university graduates.
Moreover, AQU Catalunya has also published the overall report: The Employers study: qualitative analysis, setting out comparative and general conclusions according to the branches of activity analysed on the basis of the information gleaned from the interviews and the focus groups organised. The ultimate goal is firstly to document the opinions of employers with regard to the education received by graduates and the ties between business and university; and, secondly, to identify aspects that may prove useful to relevant stakeholders from Catalan universities in order to enhance student employability.
This qualitative stage in the research seeks to gain additional insight into the results of the qualitative analysis of the Employers study and provide information specific to the degree programmes concerning the skills and knowledge most highly regarded in the labour market.
The methodology and the fieldwork have been incumbent on the Sociological Research Centre on Everyday Life and Work of the Department of Sociology of the Autonomous University of Barcelona and AQU Catalunya, as well as the task force formed by Oriol Barranco, Joan Miquel Verd, Oriol Alonso, Anna Prades, Carme Edo and Queralt Capsada.
