AQU Catalunya has worked as quickly as possible to adapt its procedures to the exceptional circumstances resulting from the outbreak of Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2. With regard to institutional and programme review, a series of actions have been undertaken to ensure effective business continuity protocols are in place and maintain most of the activities connected with the programmes under the VSMA framework.

The most important changes are as follows:

• Ex-ante accreditation and modification: The deadlines for the submission of ex-ante accreditation and modification reports have been extended.

• Accreditation: Site visits to institutions by external review panels have been cancelled, and it is now planned that accreditation-related site visits will take place via video link.

• IQAs certification: All preliminary site visits related to the certification of internal quality assurance systems (IQAs) have been cancelled and it is now anticipated that they will take place via video link.

The timetable for the issue of review reports for all the programmes covered by the VSMA Framework remains the same, and the specific review committees will continue to work online.
