AQU Catalunya participated in the Education Fair for the first time in 2026. As part of the Department of Research and Universities stand, the Agency provided thousands of participants with tools it has created and perfected over the years to help future university students make informed decisions when choosing degree programmes and universities. The feedback on the Agency’s tools from students, families and secondary school academic advisers was overwhelmingly positive, with highlights including both the relevance and helpfulness of the information as well as the user-friendliness of the systems. Meanwhile, AQU Catalunya also benefited from directly interacting with its target audience as it looks to continue improving these tools based on information gathered at the Fair.
The centrepiece of the presentation by AQU Catalunya was the EUC Estudis (EUC Educational Programmes) portal, a clear and simple platform that draws on the data the Agency regularly gathers both through assessments of institutions’ degree programmes and through its post-graduation employment surveys (conducted three years after completion of the degree programme) and post-graduation satisfaction surveys. Using this information on EUC Estudis, prospective students can explore what to expect from a particular degree programme: from likely earnings and job quality to overall satisfaction levels.
For Catalan university students facing one of the most significant decisions of their academic lives, the tool offers rare opportunity to base that choice on data rather than assumptions. Parents and secondary school advisers, too, can use the platform to guide young people with far greater confidence. The EUC Estudis portal is virtually unique internationally. Few other institutions anywhere bring together publicly available, free-of-charge data on academic quality, student satisfaction and employment outcomes for individual university degrees in a single resource.
Data in action
AQU Catalunya also showed visitors to the stand a dynamic chart drawn from the graduate employment survey. This tool is particularly helpful for those who know which broad subject area interests them but remain unsure which specific programme to pursue. Built using Datawrapper, the chart shows displays satisfaction rates, salary data and employment figures for particular degree programmes, enabling undecided students to compare options side by side and reach a decision grounded in reliable evidence.
The quality of AQU Catalunya’s data reflects years of large-scale graduate surveys exploring both satisfaction with completed studies and subsequent career progression. AQU Catalunya’s three decades of university quality assessment results are also freely accessible through the platform.
