November 2008
On commission by the Directorate General for Universities, AQU Catalunya has carried out the institutional evaluation of colleges and member institutes of universities submitting new degree proposals for introduction in the next academic year (2009-2010). The aims, scope and criteria for this process were established by an ad hoc committee, which also produced the evaluation protocols that encompass the ENQA standards. Benefit was also made of prior experience with programmes such as PRO-QU.
The documentation for this was presented on 4 September to the heads of colleges and member institutes, QA technical units and vice-rectors from the Catalan universities, the purpose being to receive comments and enhancement proposals prior to its ultimate approval.
It is envisaged that the self-evaluation process in colleges and member institutes of universities submitting new degree proposals and that have not been evaluated by AQU Catalunya or another competent agency within the last six years will begin from September onwards.
