AQU Catalunya's Institutional and Programme Review Committee (CAIP) held its first annual meeting on Friday, 28 February.

Martí Casadesús, the Agency's director and chair of the Committee, presented the activities report.

During the meeting, the document "Standards and guidelines for the institutional accreditation of faculties and schools" was presented. This is to be presented to university quality assurance authorities for discussion and subsequently opened to public consultation in order for contributions to be made by the public.

The Committee approved the following documents:

• Guidebook: "The AQU accreditation procedure includes all WFME standards for basic medical education (BME)"
• "Pilot guide to the ex-ante accreditation of short term programmes linked to the Catalan Public Employment Service's Catalogue of Training in Specialised Fields"
• "Guidelines for the introduction of recognised dual programmes"
• Drafting of the jurisdiction over health issues in recognised degree programmes (PINSAP)

It also agreed to the modification of two guidebooks:

• "Guide to the certification of IQAs implementation"
• "Guide to the monitoring of higher education programmes in the Arts"

All of these documents will shortly be available on the AQU Catalunya website.
