The data show that the SUC is a strong university system within the overall Spanish system: it attracts students, researchers and teaching staff, it is open by nature and it is the most internationally competitive of all Spanish university systems.
This initiative aims to guide and recognise the academic development of teaching staff who are in an intermediate stage of their professional career, and provides important information about their educational activities, research, and knowledge transfer.
The approval of the Organic Law on the University System (LOSU, 2023) has involved a substantial change in the model for teaching staff accreditation. In the new regulatory framework, the teaching dimension must be present in the evaluation and, therefore, must be incorporated into the accreditations of all teaching staff figures.
The General Directorate of Universities (DGU) sees this reform as an opportunity to boost academic careers and expand universities’ capacity to attract new profiles.
