Workshop: What needs to be improved in doctoral training?

A workshop is to be held on 17 December 2014 on the topic "What needs to be improved in doctoral training?" to analyse the transition to the labour market of doctoral graduates from Catalan universities according to the findings of the survey carried out this year. Building on this data, it is now appropriate to bring together the people with primary responsibility for doctoral and research training to look at possible lines of action to improve doctoral programmes. Some of the issues dealt with in the workshop will be aimed at improving and enhancing the quality and user satisfaction of doctoral training, such as the internationalisation of doctoral programmes and ways of improving the employability of doctorate holders. A guide to monitoring doctoral programmes, which is for use as a tool to improve doctoral training, will also be presented.

The workshop, which is to be held at the Pompeu Fabra University's Auditorium (Auditori) on the Campus de la Comunicació - Poblenou from 9 a.m. onwards, is mainly aimed at heads of doctoral studies in Catalonia, coordinators of doctoral programmes, vice-principals (vice-rectors) responsible for quality, research and internationalisation at Catalan universities, and heads of quality units.

Please confirm your attendance prior to 12 December by filling in the registration form available here.
