The application process for the certification of IQAS implementation in university faculties and institutes was endorsed by AQU's Institutional and Programme Review Commission (CAIP) on 18 March. The procedure was announced in the Official Journal of the Autonomous Government of Catalonia (DOGC) on 25 May 2016.

The joint planning of this IQAS certification process by AQU Catalunya and the universities takes place on an annual basis. Each institution has to apply for the certification of each of its faculties, schools and institutes using the corresponding form, which is sent to the official register.
