The Ramon Llull University's Pere Tarrés Faculty of Social Education and Social Work is the first in Catalonia to obtain a favourable review report for institutional accreditation. AQU Catalunya's Institutional and Programme Review Commission (CAIP) issued the report subsequent to verification that the faculty complies with the stipulated requirements. The CAIP's work involved ensuring that the faculty meets the requirements laid down in the Resolution of 7 March 2018 by the Secretariat General for Universities for obtaining institutional accreditation.

The procedure for issuing the report was agreed to by the CAIP at its meeting on 29 June 2018.

Institutional accreditation provides for automatic renewal of the accreditation of all the faculty's degree programmes for a period of five years.

This is the first faculty in Catalonia to obtain institutional accreditation, and it is envisaged that other faculties and schools will obtain accreditation shortly. In 2019, AQU Catalunya will review thirteen faculties at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, the Pompeu Fabra University, the Rovira i Virgili University and the Ramon Llull University, to certify their IQAs for eligibility to apply for institutional accreditation.
