In 2019, AQU Catalunya organised 89 accreditation-related site visits to different higher education faculties and schools in Catalonia. Although this figure represents just a small increase compared to the number of site visits last year, when there were 87, this year sees a continuous growth overall in the number of accreditation-related site visits and the Agency estimates that there will be 95 site visits to faculties and schools in 2020.

• Site visits in 2019

The 89 site visits organised in 2019 involved the review and assessment of a total of 166 study programmes at different faculties and schools at higher education institutions in Catalonia:

166 study programmes were reviewed and assessed in 2019, accounting for an 18% increase compared to the previous year.

In addition, during this period AQU's Institutional and Programme Review Committee (CAIP) convened 76 external review panels, which carried out the accreditation-related site visits of these faculties and schools.

• Anticipated site visits in 2020

It is anticipated that there will be an increase in the number of both site visits to faculties and schools and programme accreditations in 2020.

AQU Catalunya estimates that 95 site visits will be made, involving the accreditation of 210 study programmes, which represents a 26.5% increase compared to the previous year.
