Ramon Farré Ventura, PhD, new member of the Institutional and Programme Review Commission
The Professor of Physiology at the University of Barcelona (UB) has also been appointed president of the Specific Commission for Health Sciences.
The AQU Catalunya Governing Board has appointed Ramon Farré Ventura, PhD, as a new member of the Institutional and Programme Review Commission (CAIP) in its last meeting, held in person on 18 July. Farré’s appointment, which takes effect from 1 September, was made by the Governing Board at the proposal of the CAIP’s president, Jaume Valls Pasola. Farré, professor of Physiology at the University of Barcelona (UB), has also been appointed as president of the Specific Commission for Health Sciences. Ramon Farré Ventura, PhD, joins both commissions in place of Mercè Pallàs, PhD professor in the Department of Pharmacology, Toxicology and Therapeutic Chemistry at the University of Barcelona.
Holding a PhD since 1988, Farré is Professor of Physiology at the UB and currently works in the university’s Department of Biomedicine. He is a member of the research groups in Biophysics and Bioengineering, in Multi-scale Bioengineering in Physiopathological Processes (BIOPAT) and in Physiopathology and Treatment of Respiratory Diseases. Since 2018, Farré has also led a research group in Respiratory Biophysics and Bioengineering at the Agustí Pi i Sunyer Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBAPS).
Pursuant to article 19 of Decree 315/2016, of 8 November, approving the Statutes of AQU Catalunya, the members of the Institutional and Programme Review Commission are appointed for a period of four years, renewable once. The CAIP ensures the correct application of the set of quality assurance instruments and processes carried out by the Agency at an institutional level, as well as its projection and improvement. In addition, it facilitates cooperation and exchange with other state and international institutions.
