Employers’ opinion
The Employers’ study aims to find out about the employability of recent graduates in Catalonia. The study gathers information from companies and organizations about how recent graduates have been educated, and analyses it together with data from satisfaction and employment outcomes surveys. The ultimate goal of the studies is to generate proposals to improve degree programmes.

What is the Employers study?
The Employers study analyses university employability – understood as the capacity of universities to design a training profile that responds to the skills and qualifications required in the labour market – giving prominence to the opinion of the companies, institutions and organisations that hire recent graduates. The following aspects are asked in all editions of the survey:
- Recruitment and hiring factors for recent graduates.
- Hiring difficulties.
- Skills that recent graduates should improve.
- Satisfaction with the skills of recent graduates.
The opinion of the employer group is collected through a survey, which is analysed together with the data from the job satisfaction and employment outcome surveys to provide a set of evidence that, from a transversal perspective, helps the university community to make proposals for improving degrees from the perspective of employability. The most relevant results of this report will be presented at a conference aimed at universities, professional associations, business associations and employers in general.
Fourth edition of the survey (2024-2026)
As in previous editions, the fourth edition of the Employers survey gathers information on the factors valued in recruitment, the possible difficulties during the recruitment process, the skills that need to be improved in university education and the overall satisfaction of the employer community with the skills of recent graduates. A new feature of this year's edition is the question on aspects that are currently of great importance in the Catalan Higher Education System, such as double degrees, dual training, micro-credentials and online training, among other issues. The information collected in these surveys will be presented at a conference in which the overall results of the studies will be shown, brief reports of thematic data by specific degrees in the system will be published, and a control panel with the main indicators of the survey will be made available to the university system, which should be used to review and design the study plans.
Fieldwork will be carried out at the end of November 2024 and the survey will be sent to more than 26,000 contacts of companies and organisations provided to us by Catalan universities (collaborators in the study since the first edition).
To boost participation in the survey, companies and organisations that responded to the questionnaire were entered into a prize draw to win a MacBook Air laptop. View the rules of the draw.
