Committee training begins for certification of Internal Quality Assurance Systems 2021
12 academics, students and professional experts from all over Spain take part in this IQAS certification session, a prior step to the institutional accreditation of centres
In accordance with the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG), the assessment processes must be carried out by external experts who, in addition to having the appropriate skills and being competent to perform their task, must receive adequate training to be able to carry out assessment.
AQU Catalunya has organised the first training session of 2021 to explain the methodology and certification process for implementation of internal quality assurance systems (IQAS) in Catalan universities, with the aim of preparing the members of the IQAS certification external assessment committees.
Twelve academics, students and professional experts from all over Spain took part in this first session of the year, organised by the AQU Catalunya Quality Assessment Area.
Since IQAS certification is currently the prior step to applying for institutional accreditation of centres, training in this area is on the rise and these sessions are expected to double those of previous years in 2021.
