The Institutional and Programme Review Commission meets for the second time in 2024
The CAIP held an online meeting to discuss curriculum design and to discuss the preliminary analysis on the potential of artificial intelligence in degree programme accreditation, among other issues.

The AQU Catalunya Institutional and Programme Review Commission (CAIP) held a virtual meeting last week to discuss a number of current issues in its area of activity. Following a briefing by all those present on new adjustments to the composition of the commission and after approving the minutes of the previous meeting, the president of the CAIP and director of AQU Catalunya, Jaume Valls Pasola, presented his report to all members of the commission, which took stock of the 2023 assessment activities, those currently underway and those to come. The report also provided an update on the implementation of Royal Decree 822/2021, an approach to the benchmarks published by the Agency and information on the next studies it plans to carry out.
This was followed by a discussion among the members of the commission on the design of the curricula. At the end of the debate, all CAIP members were informed about the recent update of the visit report models derived from the on-site visits to the centres seeking accreditation.
Next, there was a presentation on the study that explores the use of artificial intelligence in degree programme quality assessment processes. The cross-disciplinary procedure for the accreditation of PhD programmes was then put forward and unanimously approved.
The CAIP, which had already met in January this year, is the body that oversees the correct application of the set of quality assurance instruments and processes that AQU Catalunya carries out at institutional and programme level. The work of the CAIP can be grouped into two main areas: the quality of teaching and the quality of institutions.
