Results of the ENQA General Assembly in Barcelona 21.10.2009
ENQA held its sixth General Assembly in Barcelona on 28 and 29 September 2009. The GA, which brought together the leading authorities in university quality assurance in Europe, dealt with forthcoming work activities on different matters and decisions were also made that will direct the Association’s activities in 2010 and beyond.
ENQA compliments AQU Catalunya on the ''progress'' made in following up its recommendations16.10.2009
ENQA has expressed its satisfaction with the follow-up of its recommendations made by AQU Catalunya. The Catalan agency has produced a follow-up report which details the measures it has carried out on the basis of the suggestions made by ENQA, following the external review of the Agency in its process of being confirmed as a full member of the Association (2008).
AQU Catalunya compares its structure and activity with other QA agencies to identify good practices13.10.2009
AQU Catalunya has initiated a comparative analysis of its structure, activity, impact and resources, etc. with other university quality assurance agencies in Spain. With the collaboration of other agencies such as ACSUG in Galicia and AGAE in Andalusia, which have both already accepted the invitation by AQU to participate in this project, the Catalan agency implements one of the actions set out in its Strategic Plan for 2009-2012.
AQU Catalunya participates in the Second National Congress on University Studies07.10.2009
The subject of the congress was ongoing training for the process involving the introduction and follow-up of new Bachelor degrees, which was started in the first congress. Events of this nature are held to enable professionals in the university world to exchange ideas on and compare their experience with pilot plans that come under the Bologna process and to bring about the convergence of degrees and qualifications at the European level.

AQU Catalunya is challenging the scientific and academic community to discuss Research assessment in the Humanities and Social Sciences. The proposed workshop forms part of the Eleventh series of AQU workshops with Catalan universities, and the anticipated dates are January 28 and 29 January 2010. The workshop is to be held at the University of Barcelona.
The quality assurance agencies of the European higher education system meet in Catalonia28.09.2009
Over one hundred heads of the main European university quality assurance agencies are meeting in Catalonia in the context of the Sixth ENQA General Assembly (European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education), organised by AQU Catalunya with the collaboration of the Technical University of Catalonia/Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya.
Issuance of the AUDIT programme certificates07.09.2009
On 16 September, AUDIT certificates are to be issued by ANECA, ACSUG and AQU Catalunya, together with the CRUE (Steering Committee of Rectors at Spanish Universities), to faculties, schools and universities that obtained a positive assessment for the design of their Internal Quality Assurance Systems.
Dr. Luís Castanyer Muñoz awarded the Jaume Vicens Vives award by the Catalan Government 02.09.2009
Dr. Luís Castañer Muñoz, member of the AQU Research Assessment Commission since 2007, has been awarded the Jaume Vicens Vives award. Awarded by the Catalan Government, this honour is given in recognition of the quality of university teaching by teachers and workgroups from Catalan universities.

The Minister for Innovation, Universities and Enterprise has renewed the appointment, as of 29 June 2009, of Dr. Maria Lluïsa Hernanz Carbó as chairwoman of the AQU's CliC Commission (which oversees collaborating [non-civil servant] and tenure-track academic staff).
