8-M: International Women’s Day at AQU Catalunya
AQU Catalunya is a gender-balanced organisation that collaborates with 415 external female experts, primarily from academia, as well as professionals and students.

AQU Catalunya is a public body dedicated to ensuring equality between men and women. This commitment is reflected in the balanced representation of experts that work with us. Currently, we collaborate with 415 women and 477 men, which means that women account for 47% of our experts.
The parity in the Agency complies with AQU Catalunya Equality Plan 2024-2027, which was approved by our Governing Board in 2023 and published in January 2024. Among other objectives, the document requires AQU Catalunya to “achieve equal representation and participation”. The Agency’s Equality Plan complies with the requirements of Royal Decree-Law 6/2019, of 1 March, on urgent measures to guarantee equal treatment and opportunities between women and men in work and employment.
Women are also well-represented among the Agency’s internal staff, accounting for 76% of the workforce, which equates to a total of 42 women employed on a permanent basis.
AQU Catalunya annually endorses the joint statement published by the Ministry of Research and Universities along with several Catalan universities to mark International Women’s Day on 8 March.
