ShareAQU Catalunya celebrates 30 years with an updated logo
Throughout 2026, the Agency will publish monthly news items reviewing the three decades of the organisation’s history, created on 29 October 1996.
AQU Catalunya turns 30 in 2026 and celebrates by updating its logo. The Agency’s emblem will include the number 30 throughout the year to honour the three decades of the organisation’s life, founded on 29 October 1996 as a consortium under Decree 355/1996 of the Generalitat of Catalonia. That consortium later became the Agency we know today through the approval in 2003 of the Catalan Universities Act, which granted it its current legal status. In 2015, Act 15/2015, of 21 July, on the Agency for the Quality of the University System of Catalonia, assigned it additional functions.
To celebrate its thirty years, AQU Catalunya will publish monthly news throughout 2026 on the website and social media, reviewing the key elements of the Agency’s history over these three decades. For example, the introduction of new evaluation activities, the Agency’s presence in the international context, or the evolution of surveys on the Catalan university system coordinated by AQU Catalunya. As part of this celebration, the October 2026 bulletin is also planned to be dedicated to commemorating the 30th anniversary.
