For the latest calls, the submission period for universities to submit the necessary documentation to AQU Catalunya regarding the modification and validation of the degree programmes they currently offer, or wish to offer, has come to an end. During these calls, which ended on 15 March in the case of modifications, and 15 April for that of verifications, the Agency received a total of 241 requests: One hundred and sixty-six for the modification of degree programmes, and 75 for the validation of degree programmes. These figures represent an increase compared to those of the 2023 calls, for which AQU Catalunya received a total of 188 applications: Ninety-seven for the modification, and 91 for the validation of degree programmes.
The validation of a recognised degree is the process that a degree must undergo before it can be offered. It consists of an initial evaluation carried out by a Specific Commission for Institutional Assessment (CEA), which issues a report stating whether or not that degree programme can begin to be offered. The modification of an recognised degree is a process by which the centre that gives it requests to make some change, which needs to be approved.
