AQU Catalunya updates its procedure and guide to the accreditation of university bachelor's and master's degree programmes
AQU Catalunya has updated its accreditation guide with a view to bringing the accreditation process for Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes up to date, adapting it, among other things, to new developments in the reference documents. Likewise, the accreditation procedure has also been updated.
The ever-changing landscape of university quality assessment has led AQU Catalunya to constantly revise its published documents. The latest of these has been the Guide to the accreditation of university bachelor's and master's degre programmes, which was officially approved in November 2023 at the previous meeting of the Institutional and Programme Review Commission (CAIP). The updated guide includes a new document reference on page 31 of the Focus 3, which refers to remote and blended learning degrees.
The guide develops the standards and criteria to guide non-institutionally accredited university centres in the internal self-evaluation process, and has been updated simultaneously with the Recognised degree programmes accreditation procedure. This new edition of the procedure, which for the first time is presented independently, reorders the sections and establishes the period during which the application for accreditation must be processed. Furthermore, the factual error review phase of the external assessment report (visit report) is separated from the remarks phase (degree report). Lastly, the concepts of best practices, requirements, enhancement areas and recommendations are redefined, standardising them with the rest of the degree and centre assessment processes.
