AQU Catalunya will analyse how artificial intelligence is affecting quality assurance processes
The AQU Catalunya Governing Board was briefed on this initiative at its last meeting of 2024, where the results of the “Graduate employment outcomes and social mobility equity” report were also presented.

The last meeting of the AQU Catalunya Governing Board of the year was held on 10 December 2024 in the Board Room of the Historic Building of the University of Barcelona. The Governing Board meeting kicked off with the presentation of the results of the “Graduate employment outcomes and social mobility equity” report by Anna Prades and Pep Mateos, senior managers of the study in the Internationalisation and Knowledge Generation Department of AQU Catalunya.
The President of AQU Catalunya, Francesc Xavier Grau, continued by reporting on the work of the Advisory Commission and on the actions that the Agency plans to carry out to analyse how artificial intelligence is affecting quality assurance processes, such as the setting up of a task force with representatives from universities and the Agency. In turn, the Director of AQU Catalunya, Jaume Valls Pasola, gave a report on the work that has been carried out regarding the creation of the Institutional Quality Framework, the launch of the creation of two new benchmarks in Medicine and Education, and the progress of the satisfaction, employer and graduate employment outcomes surveys on which the Agency is currently working. Following this, the President of the Research Assessment Commission, Maria Pau Ginebra, reported on the progress made in adapting the assessment criteria to the figures of permanent teaching staff established by the Organic Law of the higher Education System.
During the meeting, the Governing Board approved the appointment of three new members to the Research Assessment Commission, AQU Catalunya's public job offer for 2025 and the modification of the criteria applied to the appointment of the Director of AQU Catalunya. The Governing Board is the Agency's highest governing body and oversees the actions carried out by AQU Catalunya, establishes policies and strategic objectives, approves the programme of activities and the budget, among other things.
