Action protocol for institutional and programme assessment 2021
Information published on the Action Protocol in the VSMA Framework in calls for external assessment in 2021, given the effects of COVID-19.
Given the effects of COVID-19, AQU Catalunya has adapted its procedures to ensure the continuation of the programmes that form part of the VSMA Framework in the terms established by the Exceptional Action Protocol for quality assessment of institutions and programmes approved by the Institutional and Programme Assessment Committee.
The deadlines foreseen in the presentation of the reports for the verification of new recognised qualifications or the modification of existing ones are restored and the deadlines foreseen for the presentation of the monitoring reports and issuing of certification reports on the implementation of the Internal Quality Assurance System (IQAS) and institutional accreditation are maintained.
External assessment visits for both degrees and IQAS certification will continue to be virtual, for the time being, until 31 July 2021.
In the case of accreditation processes, if the facilities have not been previously visited, the assessment process will also be suspended in the hope that in the future the entire External Assessment Committee or some of its members. If the deadline for accreditation of the degree under assessment means the visit must be the universities will have to sign an affidavit stating that the institution must certify a description of the facilities and their state and, if possible, attach photographs or other evidence that allows the CAE to assess them. Exceptionally, during the virtual hearings, should the CAE detects an issue that requires a subsequent face-to-face visit or if the videoconference hearings are not viable for any reason, the date and agenda will be agreed with the university.
