Appeals Commission resolves 32 appeals for teacher status and one appeal for degree accreditation
The AQU Catalunya Appeals Committee has resolved 32 appeals filed against the agreements of the Research Assessment Commission (CAR) and one appeal against the qualification of the accreditation result of a master's degree agreement issued by a specific commission of the Institutional and Programme Review Commission (CAIP).

The AQU Catalunya Appeals Commission has resolved the appeals lodged by applicants for research merit assessment and by applicants for research and advanced research accreditation. The resources on tenure-eligible lecturers have also been resolved [tenure-eligible lecturer report] and non-civil servant teaching staff [Serra Húnter report]. In total, the Commission has resolved 32 appeals that have already been notified.
Of these 32, most were related to advanced research accreditation: 13 in total, all from the second call in 2022. In absolute numbers, the second most frequent appeal was in regard to research accreditation, with 10 in total, all from the second call in 2022. In third place were 7 appeals corresponding to the first call for the assessment of research merits in 2023. Finally, an appeal related to tenure-eligible lecturer reports (2nd call of 2022) and another to a 2022 report for non-civil servant Serra Húnter professors were resolved. Of the total number of appeals submitted, the Appeals Commission has partially assessed one and four have been assessed with a favourable outcome.
In addition, the Commission has resolved an appeal filed against the qualification of the accreditation result of a master's degree. The result of the assessment has been rejected.
The Appeals Commission is in charge of resolving appeals filed against the Research Assessment Commission agreements and the other assessment, certification and accreditation commissions referred to in Article 11 of Law 15/2015, of 21 July 2015, on the Catalan University Quality Assurance Agency (AQU Catalunya). Its resolutions exhaust the administrative route. It is also responsible for issuing review reports on other decisions issued by the commissions when this is established in the assessment, certification and accreditation processes.
