ShareFlocel Sabaté, new member of the Governing Council
AQU Catalunya Governing Council welcomed Flocel Sabaté as a new member on 31 May 2021.
Dr Flocel Sabaté Curull joins the Governing Council of AQU Catalunya to replace Dr Jordi Pérez Sánchez. Dr Sabaté obtained his doctorate in Geography and History at the University of Barcelona in 1993. He is currently full professor in the Department of History at the University of Lleida. Dr Sabaté was named Doctor Honoris Causa by the University of Cuyo, Argentina, in 2014. In the course of his career he has received various awards, including the Government of Catalonia Distinction in University Research and the ICREA Academy on two occasions, in 2015 and 2020.
Dr Sabaté is a prolific author of books, book chapters and scientific articles. His main lines of research are territory, society and institutions in the Middle Ages.
In terms of assessment experience, he has been on AQU Catalunya faculty assessment committees since 2009.
