At its meeting on 1 December, the AQU Catalunya Governing Board decided to renew Dr Maria Teresa Espinal Farré as member of the Appeals Commission.

Dr Maria Teresa Espinal Farré was renewed as a member of the AQU Catalunya Appeals Commission for four more years.
Dr Espinal has an MA in Linguistics from the University of London and a PhD in Spanish Philology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). She is currently full professor of Linguistics in the UAB Department of Catalan Philology,
having been a researcher at the Catalan Institution for Research and Advanced Studies (ICREA) from 2010 to 2014, and at the Centre for Theoretical Linguistics (CLT) from 2016 to 2020. In 2015 she received the ICREA Acadèmia Distinction and was awarded the Narcís Monturiol Medal for Scientific Merit in 2020.
She has published the Diccionari de sinònims de frases fetes (2006) along with numerous scientific articles. Her main lines of research are linguistic theory, semantics and syntax.
