Positive report on the renewal of institutional accreditation of three centres of the Universitat Ramon Llull
After conducting an external visit, AQU Catalunya has issued a favorable report for the accreditation of the ESADE Faculty of Law, the ESADE Higher School of Management, and the Blanquerna Faculty of Psychology, Education and Sports Sciences. All three centres belong to the Universitat Ramon Llull.
AQU Catalunya’s functions include issuing institutional accreditation reports for university centres to verify, based on an external visit, that they are capable of carrying out their educational activities. Royal Decree 640/2021 of 27 July establishes the procedure for obtaining and renewing institutional accreditation. This is an evaluation process that provides greater autonomy in ensuring the quality of the educational offer of university centres, by having demonstrated the effectiveness of the processes implemented to ensure improvement.
Before six years elapse since initial accreditation was obtained, a centre must undergo an external visit to accredit proper functioning based on compliance with the Guide to Institutional Accreditation of University Centres (approved July 2021). Having passed the visit, the Institutional and Programme Evaluation Commission (CAIP) of AQU Catalunya issues a favorable report that allows the centre’s accreditation to be renewed.
During the evaluation, the external evaluation committee analyzes, among other things, the centre’s policies and strategy; the design, approval and implementation of educational programmes; student admission, progression, recognition and certification; teaching staff; student‑centred learning, teaching and assessment; learning resources and student support; the internal quality assurance system; academic results; and public information about educational programmes. All accredited centres in Catalonia will periodically face the renewal of their accreditation before six years have passed since their last accreditation.
On the EUC Informes portal, you will find both the accreditation reports and the external visit reports issued by AQU Catalunya.
AQU Catalunya forwards the accreditation reports to the Consejo de Universidades, which is the body responsible for deciding on the accreditation process. AQU Catalunya publishes the accreditation results and issues the seal and the accreditation certificate for the corresponding centre, available on EUC Estudis, a web portal with all information about the quality of official university degrees in Catalonia.
