Following an external visit, AQU Catalunya has issued a favourable report for the accreditation of the Barcelona School of Management of the Universitat Pompeu Fabra.

One of AQU Catalunya’s functions is the issuance of institutional accreditation reports for university centres, in order to verify, through an external visit, that they are suitable to carry out their educational activity. Royal Decree 640/2021 of 27 July establishes the procedure for obtaining and renewing institutional accreditation. This is an evaluation process that provides greater autonomy in quality assurance for the educational provision of university centres, thanks to the demonstrated effectiveness of the processes implemented to ensure continuous improvement.
Before six years have elapsed since the initial accreditation was granted, the centre must undergo an external visit to verify its proper functioning based on compliance with the Guide for the institutional accreditation of university centres, approved in July 2021. Once the visit has been successfully completed, the Institutional and Programme Review Commission (CAIP) of AQU Catalunya issues a favourable report that allows the renewal of the centre’s accreditation.
During the evaluation, the external review panel analyses, among other aspects: the centre’s policies and strategy; the design, approval and implementation of study programmes; student admission, progression, recognition and certification; academic staff; student-centred learning, teaching and assessment; learning resources and student support; the implementation of the IQAS (Internal Quality Assurance System) and academic outcomes; and public information on study programmes. All accredited centres in Catalonia must periodically renew their accreditation no later than six years after the previous accreditation.

AQU Catalunya submits accreditation reports to the Council of Universities, which is the body responsible for deciding on the accreditation process. AQU Catalunya publishes the accreditation results and issues the seal and certificate of accreditation of the corresponding centre, available on EUC Estudis, a website with comprehensive information on the quality of official university degrees in Catalonia.
