AQU Catalunya has organised a hybrid session on 27 March to present its report on Equity in Employment Outcomes and Social Mobility for Graduates of Catalan On-campus Universities. The event, which will take place in the José A. Torroja Auditorium of the Technical University of Catalonia’s School of Civil Engineering (Carrer de Jordi Girona, 31, 08034 Barcelona) between 12:00 and 14:00 h, will present the conclusions of the report, which analyses the opportunities offered by the Catalan Higher Education System (SUC) to graduates from different social backgrounds. Specifically, the report looks at the distribution of graduates according to their social background and the differences in their employment outcomes. It also explores the role that Catalan universities can play in promoting social mobility. Finally, the report offers a series of observations for various stakeholders in the SUC to consider when addressing social dimensions in their activities.
The session, which has limited places available, will be opened by the Rector of the Technical University of Catalonia, Daniel Crespo Artiaga, the Secretary-General for Research and Universities, Josep Oriol Escardíbul Ferrà, and the President of AQU Catalunya, Francesc Xavier Grau Vidal. This will be followed by a talk from Antonio Ariño Villarroya, Professor of Sociology at the University of Valencia, entitled Com s’aborda la dimensió social d’equitat (How to Address Social Equity). Next, Helena Troiano Goma, a professor in the Department of Sociology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona and a member of the working group responsible for drafting the catalogue of indicators for the equity report will present The Catalogue of Equity Indicators. Lastly, Josep Lluís Mateos, the person responsible for preparing the AQU Catalunya study, will present the results of the report.
Anyone interested in participating in the session can register here. More information about the event and its programme can be found on this page.
