Specific Commission for Institutional Assessment created
The Specific Commission for Institutional Assessment, active since 15 October 2023, assumes the functions of the Specific Commission for Certification of the Implementation of Internal Quality Assurance Systems and expands them in the field of institutional assessment of higher education.

The Institutional and Programme Review Commission (CAIP) has created the Specific Commission for Institutional Assessment (CEAI) with effect from 15 October 2023, which assumes the functions of the Specific Commission for Certification of the Implementation of Internal Quality Assurance Systems:
- Issue of institutional accreditation reports, in accordance with the current regulations and the procedures approved by the CAIP.
- Issue of assessment reports in relation to the authorisation processes of centres that provide education in accordance with foreign educational systems.
- Certification of the internal quality assurance systems of universities, their centres and higher education institutions.
- The certification of the internal quality assurance systems of centres that offer lifelong learning.
- Any other type of institutional assessment in the field of higher education.
The Specific Commission for Institutional Assessment is made up of the following:
- The chair, who must be a member of the CAIP.
- At least one academic member representing each of the areas of knowledge determined by the person who chairs the CAIP.
- At least two members, who must be academic experts in quality assurance systems and familiar with the context of higher education institutions.
- At least one professional member who is an expert in quality assurance systems.
- One student.
- A secretary, who is also an Agency staff member.
The creation of this Commission has led to the cessation of the activity of the Specific Commission for Certification of the Implementation of Internal Quality Assurance Systems.
