The Governing Council approves the closure of AQU Catalunya's 2020 financial year
The main governing body of the Agency met online on 15 April, mainly to discuss and approve the closure of activities and the 2020 budget

During the meeting, the director and president reported on the Agency's latest developments, and the presidents of the Research Assessment Committee and of the Appeals Committee also presented the annual reports on their respective committees.
The Governing Council approved AQU Catalunya's Corporate Social Responsibility Annual Report for 2020 and the close of the financial year, the economic report, and the inventory. It was informed of the results of 2020's independent external audit, which concluded that the annual accounts expressed, in all significant aspects, a true and fair account of the entity's equity and financial position at 31 December 2020.
The meeting also saw the appointment of new members of the Research Assessment Committee and one new member of the Appeals Committee.
In addition to the above, agreements signed between December 2019 and March 2020 as well as the multi-year expenses were ratified, and the company that will carry out the external audit of AQU Catalunya's 2021 annual accounts and its compliance with public sector regulations and recommendations was approved. A report was also given on the on the Code of Good Tax Practices and the Register of Public Sector Entities.
