These are the external review visits that AQU Catalunya will carry out in 2027
The Agency is expected to conduct a total of 72 visits throughout next year.
At its most recent meeting, held in July, the Governing Council of AQU Catalunya approved the Agency’s plan for external review visits in 2027. In numerical terms, the largest block corresponds to visits aimed at accrediting degree programmes. A total of 34 visits are planned to accredit 59 official degree programmes. Of these, 28 are bachelor's degrees, 19 are master's degrees and 12 are doctoral programmes. Including official artistic higher education programmes, the total number of programmes to be accredited will be 68, as 8 master's degrees and 1 bachelor's degree in this field must also undergo accreditation. As a result, a total of 37 visits will be conducted across both non-artistic and artistic programmes.
Regarding the certification of Internal Quality Assurance Systems (IQAS), a total of 12 external visits to centres are planned (including two lifelong learning centres), along with 2 assessments of the transversal elements of the IQAS (one relating to the university and one to the foundation). The planned visits also take into account the renewal of the institutional accreditation of centres, which must take place before six years have elapsed from the date of the first institutional accreditation decision. For this purpose, AQU Catalunya will carry out the institutional accreditation of 12 centres in 2027 through 9 external visits.
In 2027, the assessment of the teaching evaluation processes of 9 universities will also be conducted. The aim is to renew these teaching evaluation processes, whose validity expires on 31 December 2027. During 2027, the following universities are expected to be visited and assessed: Universitat de Barcelona, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Universitat de Lleida, Universitat de Girona, Universitat Rovira i Virgili, Universitat de Vic – Universitat Central de Catalunya and Universitat Oberta de Catalunya.
In total, 72 visits are planned: 12 for IQAS certification, 2 for the assessment of transversal IQAS elements, 9 for the renewal of institutional accreditation, 34 for the accreditation of official university degree programmes, 3 for the accreditation of higher artistic education programmes, 3 on-site monitoring visits and 9 for the certification of teaching staff performance assessment. This figure is almost identical to that of the current year, when 71 visits are expected to have been completed by year-end. Further details of all the planned visits can be found here.
