All visits for the coming year were approved by the Agency’s Governing Council at the meeting held on July 22 of this year.
The last Governing Council of AQU Catalunya, held on July 22, 2025, approved the final list of centers offering official university degrees that will receive an external visit from the Agency next year. In total, it is expected that throughout 2026 the external evaluation committees (CAE) of AQU Catalunya will carry out a total of 71 visits to Catalan university centers. With these visits, it is anticipated that a total of 79 programs will be able to renew their accreditation, including 22 bachelor’s degrees, 55 master’s degrees, and two doctoral programs.
In addition to the 45 visits aimed at the accreditation of these 79 programs, AQU Catalunya has also scheduled eight visits dedicated to the renewal of the Internal Quality Assurance System (SIGQ) and two for transversal elements of the SIGQ. The Governing Council of AQU Catalunya also approved a total of 13 external visits for the renewal of institutional accreditation and two for the accreditation of higher artistic education programs. Finally, the Governing Council also approved a visit to a university center that involves a visit.

The external visit, aimed at continuous improvement, is the on-site verification of the functioning of a degree program, which is reflected in the external visit report and is decisive for whether that program can later renew its accreditation. The external visit thus serves as a collection of evidence for accreditation. AQU Catalunya plans external visits annually with the universities. Each visit is conducted at the faculty/department level and includes the degree programs that are starting the accreditation process.
