The new logo modernises AQU Catalunya's image while also preserving its essence
AQU Catalunya turns 25 on 29 October 2021. To mark this milestone, the Agency is unveiling a brand new logo that both modernises its image and preserves its essence.
AQU Catalunya has grown thanks to everyone involved, its collaborators, experts, staff and management teams. Since its start, one of the Agency's most valuable and distinguishing features has been its ability to build upon the legacy left by those who came before. The new logo therefore could not signify a complete break from the past. Rather, it needed to preserve the essence of the Agency, embodied in its abbreviated name "AQU Catalunya" and its two corporate colours, blue and green.
At the same time, the new logo had to showcase the Agency's 25 years' worth of experience and the values that inspire its actions. Its fundamental values are dignity, independence, impartiality, integrity, innovation and continuous improvement, public service, diversity, equity and trust. Meanwhile, its instrumental values are transparency and accountability, cooperation, efficiency, internationalisation and competence.
The resulting logo features the Agency's acronym, "AQU", with each letter taking on a simple geometric shape, namely a triangle, a circle and a square. This choice makes it internationally recognisable and conveys the values of a strong institution. Moreover, the shapes feature AQU Catalunya's corporate blue and green, which shade into other blues and greens to bring out greater contrast and liveliness. With this ombré of colours, AQU Catalunya hopes to showcase its diversity, its commitment to innovation and continuous improvement, and its ability to adapt to changing needs.
These shapes, alongside the written words "AQU Catalunya", create a harmonious visual appearance that affords much more room for creativity.
This year AQU Catalunya is turning 25, getting a whole new look and reaffirming its commitment to servicing the Catalan higher education system.
