Would you like to visit AQU Catalunya?
The Agency opens two annual periods during which requests can be made to learn firsthand how it operates.
AQU Catalunya has traditionally received visits from agencies, universities, and other organizations from both inside and outside Spain, aimed at sharing good practices, learning from each other, and strengthening cooperation in the field of university quality assurance. The positive outcomes of these visits have led, over time, to an increase in the number of requests the Agency receives to arrange new visits. For this reason, starting in 2026, AQU Catalunya will organize visits from external organizations in two separate application periods.
The first period will be dedicated to visits conducted in English. Requests can be submitted until March 13, and visits arranged by this date will take place until April 13. The second period will be dedicated to visits in Spanish, and requests can be submitted until July 20. Visits in this second period will take place before September 28, 2026. The number of organizations that can visit AQU Catalunya, as well as the number of participants per visit, is limited. For this reason, the Agency recommends not waiting until the end of each period to request a visit.
The content planned for the visits is varied, as the objective is to provide insight into different aspects of the Agency’s activities. Topics covered during the visits will include how the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG) are applied, how programs are evaluated using the European Approach methodology, how Medical degrees are accredited following the Basic Medical Education Standards for Quality Improvement, how institutional accreditation of centers is approached, how surveys of university graduates are designed, and how our quality management and information security system is structured.
The format of the visits is also pre-set to establish an equal framework for all visitors. They are expected to last three days, structured with a first day consisting of two sessions – one in the morning and one in the afternoon – and two additional days with a single morning session each. AQU Catalunya has published a website with more details about the visits. You can access it here.
