Who are we?
The Catalan University Quality Assurance Agency (AQU Catalunya) is a public law entity whose objective is the assessment, accreditation and certification of quality in all things concerning universities and higher education centres in Catalonia (courses, teaching staff, centres and services).
At an organisational level, AQU Catalunya is structured into governing bodies (President, Board and Executive Board) and assessment bodies (Institutional and Programme Review Commission, Research Assessment Commission and Appeals Commission). In addition, it has various advisory bodies (notably the Advisory Commission, with an international profile) made up of academics, managers and technical staff from the universities, and students.
The Agency has established its functions mainly through Law 15/2012, of 21 July, on AQU Catalonia, and Law 1/2003, of 19 February, on universities in Catalonia.
Like every public institution, it complies with the principles and obligations of transparency established by law, as evidenced by the AQU Catalunya Transparency Portal.
