Fragments de coneixement (Knowledge Fragments)
What is it?
'Fragments de coneixement' (Knowledge Fragments) is a new outreach publications series by AQU Catalunya designed to share the knowledge that the Agency generates or acquires on key aspects of the Catalan university system.
Purpose of the series
Among AQU Catalunya’s functions are monitoring and analysing trends in higher education, generating knowledge, and disseminating public information that contributes to accountability and transparency. Within this framework, the Agency gathers and produces valuable knowledge that it seeks to make available to the university system. 'Fragments de coneixement' was created with this purpose in mind: to position AQU Catalunya as a catalyst for the knowledge sharing across the Catalan university system.
Series
Graduate satisfaction regarding the gender perspective
The first issue of the series analyses the satisfaction of bachelor’s and master’s graduates from the Catalan university system —from the 2022–2023 academic year and surveyed in 2024— regarding the incorporation of the gender perspective into their studies. The study is based on the annual Bachelor and Master's graduate satisfaction survey (launched in 2015) and includes a specific module with responses from 5,652 bachelor’s graduates and 3,440 master’s graduates, allowing different aspects of their learning experience related to this perspective to be measured.
The module includes six questions covering topics such as the presence of female role models, the use of inclusive language, and the absence of gender stereotypes in teaching materials. Responses are rated on a scale from 0 to 5 according to graduates’ level of satisfaction. The resulting data provide useful indicators for identifying areas for improvement and supporting stakeholders across the university system in their quality enhancement efforts. They also make it possible to analyse differences between educational subfields and gain a better understanding of how these gaps are distributed across fields of knowledge.
