Amendment to the Guide to the accreditation of recognised doctoral (PhD) programmes
The Institutional and Programme Assessment Committee (CAIP) approved the amendment of the Guide to the accreditation of recognised doctoral (PhD) programmes on 19 November.
The main amendments have been made in regard to Dimension 6, which assesses the quality of the results:
- The wording of the standard has been modified to reflect that what is assessed in this dimension is the achievement of learning outcomes and the adequacy of the academic and satisfaction results of PhD students.
- Substandard 6.1 states more clearly that the learning outcomes achieved correspond to the training objectives of the doctoral programme and are consistent with those established by the Catalan Qualifications Framework.
- The old substandard 6.2 is divided into two: on the one hand, it is established that the academic and scientific results derived from the theses are adequate and consistent with the training profile (6.2) and, on the other hand, PhD students' satisfaction with the training process is evaluated (6.3).
- In addition, the headings corresponding to the four substandards are modified to make them consistent with the new substandards and Annex III is incorporated with the specifications of the Catalan Qualifications Framework for level 4 (PhD programmes).
This Guide will apply to external visits from January 2021, but does not affect self-assessment reports already submitted.
