2021 Institutional and Programme Review Commission activity report published
The report aims to give account of the Institutional and Programme Review Commission's activities in 2021
Every year, the AQU Catalunya Quality Assurance Department prepares a report on the activity of the Institutional and Programme Review Commission (CAIP), which the CAIP's president then submits to the Governing Council of the Agency for accountability purposes.
The CAIP, through its permanent commissions, carried out activities associated with the Framework for the validation, monitoring, modification and accreditation of recognised university degrees (MVSMA), as well as the certification of the implementation of the internal quality assurance and institutional accreditation systems.
In addition to this activity, the CAIP addressed the following challenges during 2021:
- the impact of the new legal framework in Spain: Royal Decree 822/2021, establishing the organisation of university education and the quality assurance procedure, and Royal Decree 640/2021, of 27 July, on the creation, recognition and authorisation of universities and university centres, and institutional accreditation of university centres;
- the definition of teaching formats;
- creation of the Guide to the Institutional Accreditation of University Centres;
- recognition of AQU Catalunya by the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME);
- the launch of the short learning programmes project, micro-credentials that promote continuous professional development and lifelong learning.
