Favourable report on the institutional accreditation of three Pompeu Fabra University centres
AQU Catalunya has issued a favourable report for the accreditation of the Faculty of Translation and Language Sciences, the Department of Translation and Language Sciences, and the Tecnocampus University Centre.
AQU Catalunya’s functions include issuing institutional accreditation reports for university centres to verify that they are fit to carry out their educational activities. According to Royal Decree 640/2021 of 27 July, the main requirements that university centres must meet to obtain institutional accreditation are two. The first is to have renewed the initial accreditation of at least half of the official bachelor’s degrees, half of the official master’s degrees, and half of the official doctoral degrees they offer. The second requirement is to hold certification for the implementation of their internal quality assurance system (IQAS), aimed at the continuous improvement of the education provided to students.
AQU Catalunya has verified in the Ministry of Universities’ Registry of Universities, Centres and Degrees (RUCT) that the Faculty of Translation and Language Sciences offers and coordinates 2 bachelor’s degrees that have obtained accreditation. The Agency has also confirmed in the RUCT that the Department of Translation and Language Sciences offers and coordinates 5 accredited master’s degrees. Finally, AQU Catalunya has verified in the RUCT that the Tecnocampus University Centre offers and coordinates 14 bachelor’s degrees and 5 master’s degrees, with 92.3% of the bachelor’s degrees and 60% of the master’s degrees accredited. The Agency certified the Internal Quality Assurance System of all three institutions on 24 July 2025, with a validity of 6 years.
For all these reasons, AQU Catalunya’s Institutional and Programme Review Commission (CAIP) has issued favourable reports for these two centres and the department of Universitat Pompeu Fabra. All three have also received favourable reports following an external visit that confirmed their proper functioning during the IQAS certification.
On the EUC Estudis you can find both the accreditation report and the IQAS certification report issued by AQU Catalunya.
AQU Catalunya forwards the accreditation reports to the Consejo de Universidades, which is the body responsible for resolving the accreditation process. AQU Catalunya publishes the accreditation results and issues the seal and accreditation certificate for the corresponding centre, available on EUC Estudis, a web portal with all information on the quality of official university degrees in Catalonia.
