AQU Catalunya has collaborated with the National Council for Culture and the Arts (CoNCA) on the study The Professionalisation of Graduates in Higher Music Education. The study explores the professional trajectories of graduates in higher artistic education in Music in Catalonia and highlights key aspects such as access conditions to the labour market. It also looks at the role of educational institutions, the importance of transversal competencies, and the structural challenges that continue to affect the sector.
The study was carried out by D’EP Institut, an organisation specialised in the social sphere that conducts sociological research, consultancy, and services related to the collection, management, and dissemination of information. It draws on data obtained from the Labour Market Insertion of Higher Artistic Education Graduates study conducted by AQU Catalunya in 2023, which surveyed 1,300 graduates on the characteristics and quality of their employment, as well as their satisfaction with their studies. The study now published by CoNCA also received support from the Department of Education and Vocational Training and from four Catalan schools that offer higher artistic music education: the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMUC), Jam Session, Taller de Músics, and the Conservatori del Liceu.
