Today, AQU Catalunya held the webinar Monitoring and renewal of institutional accreditation: first experience, dedicated to explaining the pilot test that the Agency has carried out during the first part of 2024 in this area. Followed by 150 participants, the aim of the event was to share the assessment results of the first monitoring reports of institutionally accredited centres and of the first institutional accreditation renewal process.
Three different presentations were given by the director of AQU Catalunya, Jaume Valls Pasola, who introduced the webinar, which was especially aimed at transmitting these experiences to the centres in the Catalan Higher Education System that will soon be undergoing a process of renewal. The first was given by Glòria González Anadón, president of the Specific Commission for Institutional Assessment at AQU Catalunya, who presented the paper Monitoring and renewal of institutional accreditation. The second presentation, given by Esther Huertas, head of the Quality Assurance Department at AQU Catalunya, and Albert Gili Moreno, project manager in the Quality Assurance Department and secretary of the AQU Catalunya Student Committee, was devoted to the Student Report. This document aims to encourage student participation in the accreditation process by generating an independent report drawn up by the students involved in the courses or centres to be accredited.
The third presentation was presented by Joan-Andreu Rocha Scarpetta, Dean of the Faculty of Social Education and Social Work Pere Tarrés of the Ramon Llull University, and by Mònica Figueres Suñé, Quality Coordinator of the Pere Tarrés Faculty of Social Education and Social Work at Ramon Llull University. It was entitled The renewal of institutional accreditation. The case of the Pere Tarrés Faculty of Social Education and Social Work (Ramon Llull University), and dedicated to explaining the example of the institutional accreditation that was carried out in this faculty, which was also the first centre to apply the process of renewing the institutional accreditation from the Guia Guide to the institutional accreditation of university centres.
