AQU Catalunya meets with the vice-rectors for Quality Assurance at Catalan universities
They were presented with a 'Director's Report' by the Agency, which organises these meetings on a regular basis to update the universities on their activities, covering issues such as the state of the assessment processes and the updating of the teaching assessment methodology.

AQU Catalunya met last Friday with the vice-rectors of Catalan universities. The meeting, which was the second of 2024, began with the presentation of the Director's Report, which updated the eleven university representatives present on the status of the assessment processes of the current calls for applications, the status of the review of the VSMA framework, the updating of the teaching assessment methodology, the status of the studies currently being carried out by AQU Catalunya and, finally, the conferences to be held by the Agency in the near future. Regarding the review of the VSMA Framework, the director explained that, currently, a first draft is in the technical review phase and that the final approval is planned for an extraordinary meeting of the Governing Council to be held between the autumn and the winter of 2024.
After the presentation of the Director's Report, other issues were addressed. For example, details were given of the new benchmarks in Biosciences and in Philology and Language Studies, which define the degree learning outcomes classified into knowledge, skills and competences. Finally, the meeting also focused on the Student Report, which aims to promote the participation of this group in the accreditation processes. The report aims to get the student body involved in the accreditations through the generation of an independent report drawn up by the alumni of the degrees or centres to be accredited. This project, which ended the pilot phase in 2023, is currently in the consolidation phase and this July will be presented to the Institutional and Programme Review Commission (CAIP) of AQU Catalunya to be approved if the committee deems it appropriate.
