AQU Catalunya meta-assessment for the year 2020
The 2020 Meta-Assessment Report on the internal operations of the Agency was submitted to the AQU Catalunya Governing Council.

In 2020, AQU Catalunya modified its meta-assessment system with the aim of perfecting it. The new system has three levels that include the meta-assessment of projects, areas and processes and, as a new feature, it introduces a global meta-assessment of AQU Catalunya, which has been submitted to the Governing Council for the first time.
With regard to 2020, the Meta-Assessment highlights the impact of COVID-19 and the change of AQU Catalunya offices. One of the effects of the pandemic are the savings generated for the Agency, so that all obligations were met within the budget and the year closed with a surplus.
With regard to staff, although the reinforcements provided for in the Action Plan were hired, the sustained growth of the Agency since 2010 means an analysis of the size of the workforce is recommended.
In relation to activities, the 2019-2022 Strategic Plan has reached 46% compliance; 56% of the actions carried out within the framework of the Action plan for compliance with the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance 2019-2022 were completed; and the 2020 Action Plan closed with 91% of actions completed.
AQU Catalunya works on a project-by-project basis. In 2020, 70 projects were managed, 29 were started and 22 were closed. The average duration of closed projects is almost 18 months.
As for the internal quality assurance and information security system, based on ISO 9001 and 27001 standards, it is valued as a living and robust system. During the year, 156 improvement actions commenced, of which 77% were implemented.
