AQU Catalunya opens registrations for the 'Qualitative evaluation of research: challenges and experiences' conference
The event is aimed at the entire university academic community, especially the teaching staff who carry out teaching evaluation tasks for AQU Catalunya.
AQU Catalunya has opened registration today for the conferences and workshops Qualitative Research Assessment: Challenges and Experiences, dedicated to exploring and analysing the new international trends in the assessment of academic research activity, which are currently moving towards a model capable of integrating the recommendations of the Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA) and the Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment (CoARA). This new model proposes that qualitative elements be incorporated while making responsible use of traditional bibliometric indicators. The conferences and workshops will be held online on 2 July from 3.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. and are aimed at university teaching and research staff from Catalan universities and from the rest of Spain who carry out research activity assessment tasks (accreditations, six-year research quality premiums, etc.) for AQU Catalunya. However, it is open to university teaching staff in general.
The welcome and presentation of the conferences and workshops will be carried out by the director of AQU Catalunya, Jaume Valls Pasola, and the president of the Research Assessment Committee, Maria Pau Ginebra. This will be followed by the presentation Elements towards a pluralistic and qualitative evaluation, by Ismael Ràfols, researcher at Ingenio (CSIC-UPV) of the Technical University of Valencia. Afterwards, the presentation Bibliometric Narratives will take place, by an expert from the University of Granada. Finally, the cases of multidimensional assessment of ICN2 research will be presented: Catalan Institute of Nanosciences and Nanotechnology and the IBEC Bioengineering Institute of Catalonia. These presentations will be given by Núria Benítez, coordinator of Strategy and Open Science Initiatives at ICN2's Catalan Institute of Nanosciences and Nanotechnology, and Teresa Sanchis, Head of Strategy at IBEC's Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia, respectively. Jaume Valls Pasola will deliver the closing speech.
