AQU Catalunya publishes its 2025 Activity Report and Corporate Social Responsibility Report
The document, structured around the different corporate social responsibility commitments that the Agency aims to address, reports on the organisation’s activities.
AQU Catalunya has today published the 2025 Activity Report and Corporate Social Responsibility Report. The purpose of the document is to report to the university community and society on the work carried out by the Agency during 2025. The report is structured around the corporate social responsibility commitments that the Agency seeks to fulfil. Each of these commitments is, in turn, linked to some of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) established in the United Nations 2030 Agenda and to the Agency’s strategic priorities.
Firstly, in connection with the commitment to improving higher education and promoting institutional and programme quality, AQU Catalunya consolidated its actions in 2025 to enhance the quality of the Catalan university system through the approval of the Framework for the Improvement of Institutional Quality (QUALINS Framework). The Agency carried out several institutional certification and accreditation processes and assessed a total of 410 official degree programmes, 23% more than in the previous year, within the framework of the implementation of the new verification, monitoring, modification and accreditation processes.
In the field of academic staff
Within the same area, and with regard to academic staff quality, the approval of the new criteria and accreditation procedures for academic staff in accordance with the LOSU stands out. During the first year of implementation of the new model, more than 500 applications were submitted for the positions of associate professor and full professor, and almost 800 applications for research accreditation were received, demonstrating the high level of activity within the university system regarding academic careers.
Also linked to the commitment to improving system quality, the Agency carried out new studies to assess the impact of universities on society. Specifically, it launched the fieldwork phase of the new graduate employment survey. It also strengthened its system of indicators and graduate satisfaction surveys in order to provide more evidence for decision-making.
Commitment to society
In connection with its commitment to society, during 2025 the Agency updated EUC informes, which was integrated into EUC Studies, with the aim of strengthening transparency and facilitating efficient access to public information. A total of five events were also organised. Regarding its commitment to good governance, AQU Catalunya promoted the external review of its European quality standards and approved the CoARA Action Plan 2025-2029. The participation of 777 experts in the evaluation processes helped reinforce the transparency and efficiency of the Agency’s activities.
Integration into GAIN
With regard to the Agency’s commitment to partnerships, AQU Catalunya maintained intensive institutional activity both in Catalonia and at national and international levels. The Agency maintained its presence in the main European and global quality assurance networks, became a member of the Global Academic Integrity Network (GAIN) and continued participating in European projects and international initiatives aimed at improving higher education and research assessment.
Finally, regarding its commitment to the workplace, during 2025 AQU Catalunya continued implementing the Equality Plan 2024-2027. In addition, it approved the Agreement between staff and management for the incorporation of measures in this area at AQU Catalunya 2025-2027 and the Agency’s 2026 public employment offer. The Training Plan remained in place, including a gender perspective in human resources management.
