AQU Catalunya participates in the General Assembly of the ENQA
The head of the Quality Assurance Department, Esther Huertas, gives a speech on the inclusion of the social dimension in the Agency's assessment processes.

AQU Catalunya took part in the General Assembly of ENQA (European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education) held in Malta on 23-25 October. The head of the Agency's Quality Assurance Area, Esther Huertas, delivered a speech on the inclusion of the social dimension in the assessment processes carried out by AQU Catalunya. The presentation focused specifically on institutional accreditation and the introduction of the gender perspective in programme assessment. Huertas focused her talk on how the social dimension has been implemented in assessment processes and, more specifically, on the preliminary results obtained in the first pilot accreditation renewal and the follow-up to the renewal of institutional accreditation.
The central theme of this year's General Assembly was quality assurance beyond the ESG (European Standards and Guidelines) and included sessions on quality assurance in research and its links with the social dimension of higher education. The closing session showed examples of the processes carried out by ENQA members and affiliates. The participants were also informed about the new developments of the quality policies after the Tirana ministerial conference, and were part of the first discussions on ENQA's next strategic plan.
AQU Catalunya has been a full member of ENQA since its foundation in 2000. Currently, Huertas is a member of the first Review Committee of ENQA Agencies.
