AQU Catalunya presents a series of seminars dedicated to artificial intelligence in the field of university quality
The first session of the series will take place on the morning of Wednesday, 3 June, at the Aula Capella of the Historic Building of the Universitat de Barcelona.
In a context marked by the rise of artificial intelligence, AQU Catalunya will hold on 3 June the inaugural session of the series University quality and integrity in the era of artificial intelligence, organised in collaboration with the Interuniversity Council of Catalonia. This first session of the series will take place at the Aula Capella of the Historic Building of the University of Barcelona (UB) from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in a hybrid format, both in person and online. In addition to this event, the series will include four more sessions to be held at various universities across the country. All of them will focus on the impact of artificial intelligence in the context of higher education.
The inaugural session aims to establish the conceptual and strategic framework of the series and will be structured around three main areas. The first will be the presentation of the Catalonia AI 2030 Strategy. The second will analyse the current and future scenarios and challenges faced by the university system in relation to the deployment and use of artificial intelligence. The third and final area will propose a shared reflection on the value of integrity as a pillar of trust in the fields of teaching, research and quality assurance.
AQU Catalunya and the Interuniversity Council of Catalonia, in line with their commitment to continuous improvement and institutional integrity, aim to offer through this series a space for dialogue, cooperation and shared reflection on the emergence of artificial intelligence across all areas of knowledge and university management, which is profoundly transforming the way we teach, learn, conduct research and ensure the quality of our systems. In this context of accelerated change, universities and quality assurance agencies have the responsibility to address new challenges with a critical and rigorous perspective and, above all, with a firm commitment to academic integrity.
Following the inaugural session, the series will continue with four thematic and participatory sessions addressing the following topics:
- Integrity in research.
- Teaching identity and new professional competences – date and venue to be confirmed.
- Students and learning with AI: autonomy, critical thinking and employability – date and venue to be confirmed.
- Quality assurance with AI – date and venue to be confirmed.
