ShareAQU Catalunya presents the 2026 Graduate Employment Survey of Catalan university graduates
The Agency held a press conference and a presentation event to share the results of this study, one of the most significant international studies in its field.

AQU Catalunya today presented the results of the 2026 Graduate Employment Survey of recent graduates from Catalan universities, which separately analysed the quality of labour market outcomes for bachelor's, master's and doctoral graduates who completed their studies between 2020 and 2023. This three-part study, one of the most comprehensive of its kind in Europe, was first presented at a press conference attended by the Minister for Research and Universities, Núria Montserrat Pulido, and was subsequently discussed during a hybrid event aimed at the various stakeholders of the Catalan higher education system.
The event, held at Pompeu Fabra University, was opened by the University’s Rector, Laia de Nadal Clanchet; the Chair of the Social Council of the University of Lleida, Carmina Chia Forradellas; and the Director of AQU Catalunya, Mercè Gisbert Cervera. This was followed by a presentation of the study’s findings by Anna Prades Nebot, Head of AQU Catalunya’s Internationalisation and Knowledge Generation Department. Finally, a round-table discussion entitled University talent in Catalonia: are we preparing the professionals the country needs? was held, featuring Teresa Garcia-Milà, President of the Cercle d’Economia; Francesc Castellana Aregall, Director of the Catalan Employment Service; and Pep Garcia Garcia, President of the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce in Vallès Oriental.
The 2026 survey collected responses from a total of 49,000 individuals on issues such as salary levels, whether they perform university-level functions in their jobs, and the type of contract they hold three years after obtaining their bachelor's, master's or doctoral degree. This edition also introduced several new features, including, for the first time, specific results for graduates of double bachelor's degree programmes, as well as an analysis of differences in employment outcomes among master's graduates depending on whether they studied in an online or face-to-face format. Other new findings include results on the emotional well-being of doctoral graduates during their studies and their employment outcomes outside academia.
