AQU Catalunya receives 1,302 requests for research activity assessment of university teaching staff in the first call of 2024
During this call for research merit assessment and recognition, a total of 884 applications have been processed as favourable.

AQU Catalunya has closed the first round of calls to assess university teaching staff research activity in 2024, which took place between 15 January and 2 February. The Agency received a total of 1,302 applications between merit assessment and merit recognition. 284 of these were closed without assessment. The remaining 884 applications were considered favourable by the specific committees assessing the applications in each field. That is to say, 134 were considered unfavourable.
If these results are broken down by call, the call with the highest number of applications is the assessment call, with a total of 1,230. A total of 243 of these applications were closed without assessment and 853 were considered favourable. The number of applications closed as unfavourable is 134. Overall, 86.4% of the applicants obtained a favourable result. The applicants with the highest number of favourable decisions in this call were those from the field of Life Sciences, with a 99% success rate. The field of knowledge with the highest number of applications is Social Sciences, with a total of 323 applications. This field has the lowest success rate, with 80.4% of successful applications.
The total number of applications from the call for recognition is 72. 41 of these were closed without assessment, while 31 were favourably recognised. In other words, no application was considered unfavourable and, therefore, the success rate was 100%. By fields of knowledge, Engineering and Architecture accounted for the highest number of applications, with a total of 24.
